The mission of this site is to provide recent pharmaceutical news and information to lay people, academicians, pharmacists and pharmacy students and other clinicians and scholars, journalists, policy makers and governmental bodies.
I scour the internet and harvest relevant data. I am able to screen out fluff and hype and screen in relevant data based on my 26 years industry experience as a pharmacist, pharmaceutical sales representative, pharmaceutical ad executive, pharmaceutical publishing executive and scholar of the pharmaceutical industry as it relates to spending 2 -3 hours per day reading pharmaceutical data via trade journals and internet sites and attending weekly continuing education events such as medical grand rounds at St John's Episcopal hospital and Peninsula General hospital.
This site takes a pro-pharmaceutical industry stance. We place little trust in uncontrolled experiments, scientific conclusions based on pooled data or meta analysis. We consider data's statistical significance benchmark to be a pValue of 0.05% or lower.
When reporting on clinical trials, I will always try to let the people know if the study is valid, if it was an animal trial, etc., so that valid clinical implications may be intelligently drawn.
